Resetting a Diamond

Hi everyone. I have a question about resetting a diamond in an engagement ring. I love my ring a lot, but sometimes I wish that my center stone was set higher, however, I'm not sure if that's something that can be done. Does anyone know if a center stone can be set higher than it originally was? Hope that makes sense! I've attached a picture of my ring.

Thanks!

If it's a caste head and the prongs were modified originally to your diamond, then there's chance it won't be able to be set higher. I agree with Antique Shopper, it's beautiful like it is.

It will depend how it's made. It possibly can be raised a hair with retipping and laser welding but if it's something that the whole head can be removed without damaging the integrity or structure of the ring, they can swap out the whole head for a higher one.

I personally prefer higher-set rings, because they make the stone stand out better, and simply, to me, look better. I get less stuck on my higher rings than my lower ones.

your ring looks really pretty, but of course, you have to be happy with it as well. the setting is really a personal preference. my ering is low and i like that specifically because i don't have to worry about it banging into things.

Hi Darkeyes - was wondering if you dont mind what's the size of your center stone? My ring looks really similar and I was just curious to find out if we may decide to go bigger on my stone down the road... thanks!
