In your opinion having not owned a YSL "anything" what is the resale value like... I have a collection of LV and I'm wanting to try another brand like YSL etc.. Your thoughts will help me decide. Thanks

Difficult to say, it depends on the style of the bag. Most classic styles resell decently like the envelope wallets on chains. The classic College bag also has demand. LV would have better resell due to their recognisable designs. I haven’t really sold any of my YSL bags so I’m not too sure.

Definitely buy YSL with the intention of not reselling it. I tried to sell an excellent condition Saint LouLou Saint Laurent bag and the highest offer I got was 60% of RRP.
This happened to me when I was trying to sell a Chanel bag. They offered me $1000 for a bag I bought which was close to $5000. I don’t understand how Passy Chanel bags have higher resale value, that’s not necessarily true. Chanel is more expensive in the first place so resale value will be a bit more but it’s relative to the original cost. Reselling you’ll very rarely get back what you paid for it so think carefully before purchasing and make sure it’s the right bag for you.

I even got an abusive message asking my why I had the nerve to attempt to resell for 80% of the RRP when it's a (barely) used (excellent condition) bag!

Anyway I ended up keeping the bag. :)
