Is it just me or is there a lack of inventory for the mini bags on the resale market? Specifically Fashionphile and similar sites. It seems that the highly sought after bags get sold quickly (caviar leather and or/ exclusives colors) and not enough are offered. Also, does anyone know approximately how many mini's in iridescent for 21S were made in each color? For instance, for the pink iridescent mini, how many worldwide were made? Thank you in advance! :)

People are holding on to their Chanel bag collection due to the multiple price increases in the last 3 years. Light pink in general sells within weeks and does not sit on consignment for long. It is due to the low inventory at the store level and if buyers can't get it at the boutique, they will go to the resale market.

I have to admit if I were to sell my caviar minis; I would have few options to buy another caviar mini as they are no longer produced and I don't want to sell any of them. Not producing caviar minis was deliberate on Chanel's part.......

Trends come and go and the minis have been popular for a while so yes they go quickly and usually at crazy prices (unbelievable when the bag is so small!) I have a mini caviar rectangular that I like but don’t love, although with the crazy prices and the fact that they aren’t made anymore I will probably hold on to it.

Someone made a thread where the offer was soooo low I'm not sure if you're offended or just start laughing.
I was neither. I chose to be shocked with a bit of resentment. During the times when Mini O pouch was very popular and very hard to get, I wanted to sell mine in black classic color, caviar, and gold hardware. They offered me $180 while they were reselling them for $800-$900 at that time. Laughable.

There is currently a decent amount of things for sale, but there is a lack of what you could call premium bags...People are saying it's a buyers market but only to a certain degree. Sellers are holding onto the bags that are special and selling the seasonal lower quality bags. I see buyers making very low offers on consignment items and it's causing sellers to pull things off the market or to just send them off to online consignment where the prices are higher and the buyouts are lower, but they don't have the hassle. If you are a buyer in this market you can get some good deals, but you need to be aware that sellers will only go so far.

I have a client who was willing to sell some things at rock bottom pricing-way below market value to generate quick cash. we had things priced new w tags at half of retail. I still had people making lower offers and you can only go so low when there are buyout offers in place. Given the choice of selling an item or taking a buyout offer, if they are too close the seller will take the buyout offer. In this scenario, its a losing situation for everyone.

Fashionphile has been offering low ball price for buyout items for past 4-5 months . Seems their business going down lately. And they are selling at super high for almost everything specially Chanel and Hermes. I think is crazy how their business practice lately. So unfortunately it’s not the same as before.
I totally agree. Fashionphile’s offers are just silly now. Plus their inventory has become rather boring. I used to love seeing a vintage alligator bag or a rare seasonal piece from years ago on their site, but now it seems the vast majority of their inventory consists of just a handful of extremely common bags. Ex: they must have dozens of YSL LouLou bags available on their site at any given time…why the redundancy???? It makes no sense to me. I would think this approach would cause them to lose customers on both ends of their transactions (buyers and sellers). I long for the good old days.

I read a good theory on why this is happening in another comment section…apparently the thought is they are slowly positioning the business to rent bags v. Sell. This makes sense if you take into account the new return policy (15 days from the day they ship the bag (irrespective of when you receive it)) and the fact that they are increasingly pushing their buyback program.

That said, I too stopped selling to Fashionphile. I don’t mind taking a loss, but losing 75% of the purchase price for them to turn around and sell for over sticker price at the boutique is insulting. Good luck to them sourcing their inventory, but it won’t be me.

Agreed. They ask you to comment on why you don’t want to sell to them. I wrote ridiculous offer. I’m actually very offended, since I bought the bag from them and clearly it’s never been worn. I’m not a complete idiot.
