Hello all!
So I live quite a far distance from any luxury stores (sad). But I’m taking a trip to Dallas in a few months with some friends and would really love to purchase the GG Supreme Bees Card Case in the Gucci store in Dallas.
But I’ve checked the ‘store availability’ for that specific card case, and Dallas doesn’t have it in their store. So I was wondering if anyone knows if I would be able to call the store ahead of time and request this specific wallet? I just wasn’t sure if stores would do that if it’s an item they don’t usually carry?
I’ve heard that you can order items online and then have it picked up in-store, but I’d like to look at the wallet and inspect it and make sure it’s what I absolutely 100% want to spend my money on before committing to it.
And if I am able to special request they get the wallet in for when I’m visiting, does anyone have any idea how far in advance I need to contact the store?
Thanks, Christy.

Hello @christya I know that my response doesn't answer your particular inquiry however if you check out sites such as SSENSE or Selfridges then you would be able to save on tax when shipping to the U.S. The only issue is that you won't be able to inspect it prior to purchasing. Good luck and hopefully the lovely men and women on tpf can assist better than I.

I believe (at least in Europe) Gucci doesn't allow you to buy online and pick-up in-store though many other companies do offer that service.

The best way is to call the Dallas store and ask if they can request a transfer. The answer will depend on:
Who is asking based on your relationship with the store and your sales history.
Who does the asking to the store where the product is available (the SM has more authority than a temp or new SA for instance)
How popular is the item, as something that is flying out the door anyway may not be let go of.
How much an item costs since it's more worth it for a store to press for a croc handbag than bother with a keyring.and also how busy both stores are as little requests can just get brushed aside in terms of priorities.

Perhaps there are a few things you may be thinking of at a future date. If I was you and I really wanted that cardholder, I would list lots of things to an SA that you are coming in to see at the Dallas store (that you know they have) plus the cardholder. Then kindly ask for them to get in that cardholder as part of the 'deal'. Check back again that it's in before going.
