Yes. I am having the same done with a vintage belt, which is missing the chain. Depending on country and boutique they will tell you that they can or cannot and the price quote will differ too (which makes no sense) but keep going!! It took me 2 countries and 6 SAs to get it done. (mind u, i haven’t actually had it repaired yet but that was due to time required to get to the boutique willing to take it in)

What prices have you been quoted?
The strap on my vintage bag is removable so that the bag can be carried as a tote, so the strap isn’t a necessity. I just want one since it has been lost over the years. :)

There is only one Chanel boutique here and it opened less than two weeks ago so I haven’t been there yet. :)

Looking for any updated on this issue, I’m looking to replace a chain strap too but don’t want to go into the closest boutique to ask, they still velvet-rope it…Thanks!
