Hi Gucci Forum!

I have a question about a repair. My sister has the GG Supreme canvas diaper bag. The canvas on hers in not coated. Anyway one day when her husband picked it up the end of the strap came off. It is just like all the stitches let go. There is no tearing at all or damage on the canvas and you can see where it should be able to just sew it back on. Do any of you know if Gucci can/will do this since the canvas itself isn't torn? And how would be the best way to go about it, just bring to the store?

Thank you for your help

Gucci do a good job for me.

There's 3 different ways they'll do a repair once taken in and agreed on.

1. In house and almost while you wait. If it's current season and just a matter of re-doing a stud or stitch the atelier will do it. This is usually RTW.

2. Done locally, they'll outsource to a trusted Gucci repairer in your own country. They'll do this with cleaning too. Your bag could well come under this. If it's less than a year old I would expect Gucci to do it for free.

3. Sent to Italy. This can take months but sometimes there's a special reason for this eg the the right leather colour/type.

Does anyone have experience with requesting a Gucci repair through the web site? I discovered that the Ophidia GG mini bag I received mid April has a large gap in the zipper slider on the pocket causing the zipper pul to fall out when trying to unzip the pocket. I thought I could use the bag and just not open the pocket, but unfortunately the gap is large enough that just bumping against clothing causes the zipper pull to fall out. I entered a request online over 5 days ago without a response. Just wondering if this is a normal delay or if I should try calling.

not zipper nor web but i had one of my mini Dionysius bag’s buckle repaired because they had missing crystals—- more than a year after buying it there (US). The store took it and shipped back to me repaired free of charge. I didnt expect it to be free.

Thank you. I never got a response from the online submission. I remembered an SA reached out to me after I completed a survey, so I emailed her and she was able to get the ball rolling. It's been an excruciatingly long process and a month later they still haven't agreed to do the repair. This is super annoying because the bag is brand new - just received in April and had not used it yet when discovered the issue in early June. Anyway, I should be getting a reply with the decision this week. Fingers crossed they fix it for free! Next time, I will do a thorough inspection as soon as I receive a bag. Lesson learned.

@papertiger do you know if Gucci will take vintage bags (I mean 50s-60s bags) to restore or for TLC?
I’ve started searching for a vintage Croc Gucci bag and the possibility to restore is an important factor to consider against my purchase. Thanks

They've taken old bags of mine, and that's all I can offer.

They will only take a bag they can save (same as H) and they will only take it if they have the necessary materials.

You will be charged but it'll be worth it.

I realized I never posted an update to my repair saga. Fortunately, Gucci agreed to cover the repair under warranty. It took them a month to complete the repair and another month to return the bag to me, but it was returned in flawless condition. Very happy with the repair. :hbeat:
