I purchased the 2018 LE Holiday pendant. I accidentally broke the chain where the clasp hooks on. I phoned VCA to see how to handle this. They will repair it for me once I send it back. They cannot provide an estimate of costs until they examine it which I understand. But, I was wondering, has anyone had experience with this going to another jewelry shop other than VCA? It seems like a pretty standard repair job but who knows. Would you have VCA repair the necklace no matter what the cost?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Personally I would only have it done by VCA you will get a high quality repair with all the guarantees ... Especially since its a limited edition and a bad quality repair would be easily seen it you ever want to sell it

I would never go to a non/VCA Jewelry boutique to have a piece of VCA repaired-even for a new clasp. The value of
the piece will lessen and if you ever need to send it to VCA for anything down the road they will not work on it.
It is not hard to send it in. Use Fed EX and insure it. I have always used the NYC boutique for cleanings/repairs and the turn-around is very fast and efficient.

Very good advice. Thank you so much! I plan to send the necklace back to VCA.

Great advice! Exactly what I was looking for....I really love my necklace and only want the best repair job. Thank you!

I’ve had an earring repaired recently. It was my pave va. One of the backs were very loose. I’ve only worn them 3 or 4 times and were purchased 2 years ago new. I don’t even know how they got loose. When I finally had a chance to drop them off it had passed the 2 year warranty by 2 weeks. I’ve read on their site there is a 2 year warranty. I thought maybe they’d let it slide, I am not even sure if it would be covered under warranty any if I turned it in sooner. I was told someone would contact me with repair cost when they evaluated it but they fixed it, didn’t call me, and charged me $220.

But either way I would’ve had it fixed. It took about 2 weeks.

Maybe yours will be covered under warranty

Btw, I have a dainty Piaget bracelet that broke. It broke where the chain connects to the charm/pendant whatever it’s called. I had a local jeweler solder it back on for $25. It looks great.

Glad it worked out for you! I am not sure if my necklace is covered under warranty. I purchased it last November and was unaware of any warranty. But, I broke it myself (accidentally, of course). Thank you for your reply!
