just purchased a beautiful pair of cleos:

Cleo Sandal Strass 40

Black satin sandals with crystal appliqué featuring thin straps and a small spiral that wraps around the ankle. Low decorated heels for a flawless total look.

they seem to fit me perfect in terms of sizing, but the 2 top straps are looser than expected. My foot keeps sliding out of them when i walk. any tips on making it slide less?

Take them to a cobbler who specializes in high end shoes and have the straps tightened.

Agree but make sure you have the fitting after being on your feet A LOT as you want to make sure you don’t have the opposite problem of being too tight if you swell in them in hot weather. Also you can try a nonslip insole in them which can be purchased from any decent shoemaker/cobbler.

thats what I was thinking as well... But I dont want to ruin them... So worried that the insole will somehow damage them

I buy the clear/silicone insoles and put them in designer shoes. I have narrow feet so these are a staple for me, they‘re also in my Hermes Orans. They are removable without a trace but if you pull them off they could lift/ pull on the leather. I find after a certain time of wear they’re more easily removable, sometimes I have to move/adjust them a little. I’d say it’s less risky than having the straps tightened.

Agree-I use the classic full gel insole on all my sandals and have never had an issue. I put a drop of water on my hands and rub over the bottom of the insole before laying it down and they stick without an issue and I haven’t ruined any insoles-in fact it protects them although I admit that I really don’t care if insoles discolor as they can usually be replaced and as a rule I keep my shoes until they’re trashed anyway with rare exception of a fit mistake.

Cutting strapping is really risky unless you go to someone brilliant as you really have to take the shoe apart and if they make it too tight you’ve got a ruined shoe. I have someone wonderful and they’ve taken in several collection Pradas for me as well as switching out a kitten heel that I could no longer wear for a block heel but I remember once he was ready to throw me out as he did make a shoe too tight and had to redo the entire sandal but thankfully he nailed it the second time and had enough leather underneath to adjust. That kind of stuff really needs a specialist and not your average cobbler.
