I just bought my first Birkin last month and I'm supposed to be on a ban now... But I am just so depressed as I've ended a 4 year relationship recently.. This red one is just so gorgeous and I've always wanted a red Hermes bag... Should I go for it? I'm too shy to ask for the zipper photos but the geniuses at authenticate thread say its real..

what to do?:sweatdrop: should i just go for it despite my purse ban?

I would check with Hermes to ask if they will service a bag that has been re dyed.
The seller also say's that she has removed the new dye?

That sounds very unusual to say the least.

I was wondering about that too...unfortunately there is no Hermes where I live.. I've given a counteroffer though I don't know if they will take it.. I just wouldn't want to pay so much for a bag that's quite old and redyed/removed

No, I would not buy it. You just ended a relaionship that wasn't quite right. This purse is not quite right with the redying. Another red will come along at the right time. Wait and save your money for the right time when you are in an optimistic mood.

Sorry to hear about the relationship. I have also been there and I am also all about retail therapy and about red bags!!!

I have a rouge vif Birkin (in chevre). Rouge vif is a difficult red to find, however, I am a bit "weirded" out about the re-dying and having it removed. I guess I can understand the re-dying, but why did she have it removed? Wouldn't that effect the original dye?

I would wait for another rouge vif bag, IMO.

thanks for all your advice! Although it looked good in the photos, I'm just worried in what condition it would be in with the re-dying and everything else.

do you think its authentic?

someone is also offering me a brandnew 32 kelly chevre for 7500$.. is that a good price? isn't 32 quite large? a 30birkin is the perfect size for me.. i am struggling with my 35... so i was thinking a 28 kelly should be good?

Any advice?

I don't know if it is authentic as I am rather new to Hermes. Hard to know on the size for you. I have a 32 Kelly and like it for me. I do fill it up. Somehow 7500 sounds like alot to me. I would wait. Keep your eyes open and you never know what will pop up. I am sure you will get exactly what you want. I wish I could give you better advice on size, cost and authenticity. Could you ever call a store close to you and get to know a SA by phone, seems like others have done that. Would not hurt to try. I go to SCP once in awhile and will keep my eyes open for you there. How about the Wall Street store, they seem to have alot. Jeepers I wish I could help.

Hi again! I posted it on the authnticate site... i will see what they think about it... I am only 5'1" and 104 pounds... the 32 kelly should be right in between the 35 and 30 birkin... i can live with that.. Unfortunately no Hermes in my country... that's why resellers charge an arm and a leg here...thanks for letting me know about the ebay bag :flowers:
