Recommendations for Manhattan shopping

Ok, gals, going to NYC in a few weeks and want all your expert opinions on where to shop. Other than the obvious big department and designer stores, do you have recommendations? I enjoy interesting boutiques the most - but don't want to travel all over the place. It will be cold!!! I have been briefly in Nolita and thot it was cute. I will be staying on W 79th. Thanks for all your help!

century 21 if you're looking for discounted designer duds its across the street from the world trade center.

and def go to soho and walk around and look at all the shops and boutiques. take the n or the r right to prince and it'll leave you in the middle of everything.

theres also 34th street herald square.

I really like to go to SoHo and visit the Nanette Lepore, Tibi, Rebecca Taylor, and Alexis Bittar boutiques.
