I am interested into getting a cuff (bracelet) custom made reusing family jewelry and old stones.(for sentimental reasons)

I would appreciate your recommendations.
Just in the New York area as I prefer to meet the artist in person.

I agree with you to find someone local. Always better to meet the jeweler in person...you have more control over the finished product. I wish I knew of someone in Manhattan who could help you!

Studio Remod is in New York. I haven’t had work done by them but did inquire about a project last year and was impressed with their response. I just decided against it because I’m in Canada and it probably would have been subject to duties. But I’ve been impressed with the work I’ve seen them do!

Sorry can’t help....I actually didn’t get to the stage with them of pricing out the project because after our discussion re: duties I decided to try someone local (who incidentally I didn’t get a good vibe from so the stones are still just sitting in my jewelry box!).

I’m sure you could contact some of their previous clients...some of them are tagged on their IG acct.

james & company jewelers (Diamond district) for classic timeless settings. Jimmy ans Glenda have been in the jewelry business forever. Glendas father was one of the four who had 42 st designated the Diamond district. And, they used to supply (and may still supply gems for a major high end jeweler on fifth Avenue .

Jimmy also set baroque pearls I brought him with Diamond clasps and another set into white gold chain (for a more edgy look).

both completely trustworthy with impeccable skill and taste. However, IMO it helps to
go to jewelers with a variety of ideas or pics that you like, bc individual styles differ.
