Sorry if there is already a thread for this. I looked but didn't find one.
I am still a poor grad student, so a Love is out of the question for now. However, I have a very slender 6" wrist and I like the oval shape of the Love over the round shape of most bangles because it doesn't move around as much. Can anyone recommend a more affordable bracelet (let's say $300 or under) that has a similar shape and sizing options as the Love? I'm NOT looking for a replica of anything, just suggestions for other designs that might have a similar shape and sizing. I know that this kind of thing is part of the quality that you are paying for when you buy designer, but with so many wonderful designers out there now I would guess that there has to be some other options these days, right?
TIA!

I've seen many bangles like this, including unbranded at jewellery stores, fashion brands, and also custom pieces by jewellers listed on places like Etsy. So it really depends on what material you want and whether you like plain, detailed or with gemstones.

I recently saw some solid silver pieces at a jewellers when I took my watch in to be looked at, and they were priced at around £150. I know for a fact I'd find the same gram weight of silver for less on Etsy, so that could be a place to start?

If you want gold, then at that price point you'd be able to find 9k gold (including vintage):

or

or

Also at that price point you'd probably get hollow 14k gold:

or

However I'd recommend solid silver plated in gold; weighty and beautiful. You could get something a good size and plated really well judging by some of the prices:

If you want branded then I'm not sure who's at that price point. Maybe Links of London, Michael Kors? (Although I don't personally think you're paying for quality in these cases. There's no need for them to be that expensive other than to fill a price gap in the market.) Swarovski are probably cheaper than either of those.

I'm currently wearing a stainless steel bangle by Fossil that was much cheaper; less than $70. It does me fine and is standing up well.

Cost will relate to the metal of the bracelet as well as the designer's name. There are a lot of unbranded bangles out there that are quality pieces, you just have to search for them online & in stores. I would recommend going to stores to try on some to find the size & metal you like, then look online for a less expensive alternative. I have several gemstone bangles in Sterling Silver that are oval as well as a couple of two tone Italian 14k gold bangles. I have a round 14k bangle I no longer wear because I find the oval more comfortable for me. All of my bangles are unbranded. I cannot wear a solid bangle because to find one big enough to go over my hand will be too big on my wrist.
It will also depend on if you want the bracelet to be permanent. I love the Cartier Love bracelet but I don't want something that I have to wear 24/7. I don't sleep in my jewelry except for my diamond stud earrings. I change my jewelry according to my mood & clothing so I have always gravitated to cuffs or hinged bangles.
You should also consider that if you choose a bracelet that is plated & plan to wear it all the time, there will come a point when you will need to have the bracelet re-plated since constant wear will rub the plated metal off. Sterling Silver that has been rhodium plated to prevent tarnishing wears well & when the rhodium begins to wear off, it's not noticeable.

Sorry for the delayed response- I have been traveling. But thank you both for the help! I looked at several of the options from Fossil. I like them and I might get one or two in the future. For now, I found something that I like on Amazon. The design actually reminds me of the Cipullo Friendship Bracelet, but it can be engraved. I had it engraved with my dad's name to emulate a leather bracelet that he made for me when I was young. I don't wear the leather one because I wore the first one so much that it broke and I lost it and he had to make me a new one, but since these leather name bracelets were kind of our "thing" I thought that a metal version would be a nice way to honor his memory.

It's supposedly ion plated rose gold over silver, so we'll see how it holds up. It was inexpensive so I won't be terribly upset if it doesn't last very long. I ordered the small (I have TINY wrists), so hopefully it will fit. I'll post pics when it comes in.
