I was just wondering ~

do all engagement rings come with a 2nd band? I can't bring myself to ask my fiance if there is another band or just the one he gave me that has the center stone and a band of diamonds.

The reason I'm wondering is because the engagement ring band has all diamonds around it.......and if another band goes with it I'm thinking why would you put diamonds on the one side that the other band will go on.

So then I'm wondering even more ~ was your engagement/wedding ring one or two pieces?

I always thought there were two pieces ~ but I just don't know?

Thanks for your help!!!!

No

You can choose your own wedding band to match the engagement ring. Some rings have matching wedding bands but not all.

As for me, I went the traditional asian/hong kong tradition. My wedding band is matching with DH so I just wear my engagement ring on my right hand.

thanks.....

I was just trying to figure out when we are at the alter will I be getting another band?

Most likely I won't know without asking......but I don't have it in me to ask right now.
I'm sure there will be a time when I feel it's more appropriate to ask.

I'm thinking with my band there probably won't be another band.

You will get another one if you want one. It's traditional to get a band on your wedding day, that's your wedding ring. Some rings come as "bridal sets" where you get the engagement and wedding ring together. Most of them, you get just the engagement ring and then you purchase your wedding ring later.

yes, normally you'd get it on your wedding day - often couples will go pick out their wedding bands together prior to the wedding.
I used my e-ring, my e-ring had a thick band and I didn't care about having a wedding band w/ it - this is modern, a lot of ladies don't add a wedding band.

A second band isn't necessary, but you can still put one with an engagement ring that has diamonds on the side. My best friend has a pave e-ring and band and both have diamonds on all three sides. This way, she an wear one or both. Your engagement ring was probably crafted that way so that it looks good as a stand-alone, which it will be at least up until the wedding.

I'm with you on this. I wear one ring on my left hand. The design of my e-ring doesn't look as well with a band next to it. My jeweler says that she is selling less wedding bands than in the past.

I'm sure your fiance is expecting to buy you a wedding band for the big day. I don't know anyone who was presented their engagement ring AND wedding band when they got engaged.
