Well I have won a pair of boots which on the whole I'm happy with, however there is some loose stitching on them which I will need to get repaired (not disclosed in auction).

Am I within my rights to ask for a partial refund? It shouldn't cost too much to get it done, but I'm not happy that the stitching is undone (noticeably) at the front.

Hard to say without seeing how bad it is. The price you paid for the boots also comes into play, IMO, though none of this excuses the seller for not disclosing this flaw in the listing. It was not visible in the photos?

Yes, what sort of money did you pay ? how much will it cost to fix ? i agree there's no excuse for not disclosing the problem, but if they cost peanuts, i'd probably leave it, if they were pricey i'd contact the seller asap.

definitely contact the seller first - although it sounds improbable, they may have genuinely missed it and suggest partial refund themselves - worth giving them benefit of the doubt I think! then if they are not helpful go through SNAD

Well they are vintage, but I paid a fair amount for them and the loose stitching is not disclosed in the auction or the photos.

I have asked the seller for a (small) partial refund to restitch this bit and he agreed, though I have not had it yet.

I'll take photos tonight and hopefully it can be resolved amicably
