Hi, I need some help with summer vacation! We're looking to go away for one week (we live on the east coast)

Here are our requirements

  • Continental US (because of US Airways companion ticket)
  • A place where US Airways flies because of that companion ticket.
  • Not somewhere insanely hot or humid as it will be July
  • Not a theme park
  • Someplace with a good amount of things to do but where we definitely can enjoy relaxing

Any suggestions? I thought of Glacier National park or Yellowstone but getting there is not easy and we'd spend hours on the road after the flight..

So -- does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you!

Kentucky!!! Louisville area, laid back, lots to do... they have caves to tour (the Mammoth Caves! and others) and a Kangaroo park (Kentucky down under)

Chicago is great, lots of shopping, nightlife, theater, museums and they have beaches!

Mackinac Island, Michigan if you don't mind walking (cars aren't allowed) very charming, lots of historic parks, beaches, horseback riding... not sure where the closest airport would be though:wtf:

I would suggest Florida but it's ridiculously hot in july!

Pacific Northwest - Start in Seattle and drive south to Portland. You'll have good weather, beautiful scenery and you pass through wine countries too.
