I just received my Félicie Pouchette purchased through their website. I was super disappointed when I unboxed the bag to find that it looked like it had previously been used... Right off the bat, the button was scratched and looked worn. I’m surprised this would even get shipped out. I initiated an exchange, fingers crossed the next one is actually new.

This is the second time I’ve purchased something direct from LV, and I’ve received defects both times. I do understand that wear & tear naturally happens overtime, but right out the box? I’m really trying to appreciate the brand, but I’m kind of losing faith in their quality.

What do you all think?

I just purchased a card holder (online). It literally just got here this morning. When I opened it, I saw crooked stitching on the sides. I couldn’t believe how bad the quality control on this one was. I tried so hard to not discriminate it due to it being “made in Spain” but this is unbelievable.

I think that's terrible; so sorry. I would be livid. Good luck with the exchange.

I have seen some variations before in this area, since this is the trickiest part of the card holder, but this one clearly isn't nicely made. I am happy to defend Vuitton when reasonable, but for this amount of money this little amount of stitching should be done well. I checked mine, it is not like this at all.

I think it's a disgrace, is there no quality control at all? Good luck with the exchange.

Your pochette felicie has a cosmetic flaw, not a defect imo. A defect would suggest it affects the quality of functionality and/or material itself, like if the leather was peeling, or if the metal button came to you pitted and oxidized (brittle metal). A scratched button doesn't make the bag more prone to critical damage. It just makes it not nice to look at. I harp on these things because sometimes I find people to be a little unrealistic and expect literal perfection. In your case, I wouldn't want that button either, but it's damaged, not defective.

Somebody probably fumbled around with the button when they attached it onto your bag. These are people, not machines. It may take several tries for someone to attach hardware. If they're new or having bad luck, they'll damage the hardware. If everything else about an item is to your liking, you can always go into your local store and ask if they can send out and replace the hardware. Since your piece would be new, it should be a complimentary replacement. I've done this before with one of my pieces. Came to me with pitting, and I just got it replaced. Again, since a human handled it, it wasn't free of minute scratches from tool handling, but it certainly was free of pitting.

So sad to see. That’s not ok. Did they have any explanation?
hold my fingers for your next purchase:smile:

I just took a look at mine and it doesn't look like that. The stitching is straight and tight. Mine is Made in France, although I have some very nice Made in Spain pieces.

I agree - it's a cosmetic flaw / damage under your definition. But, I'm definitely shocked it got past QC in the condition I received it if it was in fact a new bag. I'm wondering if I possibly got a returned bag. Either way, I'm let down by their standards at the moment. Hoping the replacement goes well!
