Ray J was busted by Beverly Hills cops tonight after a disturbance at a swanky hotel allegedly turned into a violent confrontation with officers ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us Beverly Hills PD got a call Friday evening from someone claiming Ray J was causing a ruckus inside a bar at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel ... and officers were dispatched.

We're told hotel staff asked Ray J to leave, but he refused. TMZ obtained photos of officers on the scene questioning Ray and an unidentified woman ... shortly before he was taken into custody -- and we're told he did not go quietly.

Once cuffed in the back seat of a patrol unit ... Ray allegedly kicked out a window of the vehicle.

Right now Ray is getting booked by Bev Hills PD for trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest, and battery ... according to our sources.

We're told the battery is for allegedly spitting on an officer during the arrest.

Ray J Someone Called 911 To Report ***-Grabbing

Ray J made contact with a woman's *** at a swanky Bev Hills hotel, and that's why someone called the cops to report a sexual battery ... which led to a violent confrontation and his arrest.

The Beverly Hills PD tells us Ray J was in an altercation Friday night at the Beverly Wilshire hotel bar. He somehow made contact with a woman's butt and that's why cops were called. They determined it was NOT a sexual battery -- the contact was "incidental."

Apparently Ray J was asked to leave and all was ok, until he got to the valet area, where cops say he became belligerent and then refused drive off.

Hotel security made a citizen's arrest and BHPD cops obliged and took Ray into custody.

TMZ broke the story ... Ray kicked out the back window of the police vehicle and spit in an officer's face.

He was booked for trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer.

Check out the video ... it's Ray J leaving jail and he clearly wasn't fazed by the whole thing.

Ray J was arrested after getting into an altercation at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, according to TMZ.
The 33-year-old singer allegedly touched a woman’s backside and was asked to leave the hotel by police on Friday (May 30).

When Ray got to the valet, he refused to leave, which led to police taking him into custody. After the police put him into a cop car, he decided to kick out the back window and spit into an officer’s face.
From his actions, Ray was charged with trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest and battery on a police officer.

Ray J Claustrophobia Made Me Kick Out Cop Car's Window

Ray J insists he has a good explanation for his arrest over the weekend for allegedly grabbing a chick's ***, breaking a squad car window and spitting at a cop ... or at least he says.

Let's go in order ... Ray J says he never played grab *** with some strange girl at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel bar Saturday night ... and cops even concluded any butt-touching was accidental.

Ray J says he feels the story was made up by hotel management to get him out of the bar because he and his friends were too loud. This angered him because he says he's spent tens of thousands of dollars at that hotel in the past year (the Joan Rivers sex tape spoof was filmed there).

As for his transgressions with the cops ... Ray J tells TMZ he never intentionally spit on anyone, but cops to kicking in the cop car's window. He says he became "very claustrophobic" inside the car and needed fresh air STAT.

Ray J was booked for trespassing, vandalism, resisting arrest, and battery on a police officer.

Ray J Charged with 10 CRIMES D.A. Files Sexual Battery, Cops Disagree

The L.A. County D.A. has thrown the book at Ray J ... charging him Monday with 10 CRIMES in connection with his drunken antics last May ... and get this -- the D.A. charged Ray J with sexual battery even though cops say no such crime was committed.

Ray J was at a bar at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel when he got rowdy, brushed up against a woman's *** and was ordered to leave. Police told TMZ at the time it was NOT a sexual battery because the contact was "incidental" -- not intentional. Apparently the D.A. begs to differ.

Ray J left the bar and then went nuts in an alcohol-fueled rampage. He was arrested, kicked out the window of a cop car and spit on an officer. Ray J told TMZ ... he kicked out the window because he was claustrophobic.

In addition to the misdemeanor battery charge, Ray J was charged with 4 counts of resisting arrest, 3 counts of assault and battery and 2 counts of vandalism ... all misdemeanors.

For real, he needs to be put away for a while.
Why can't they build a case around his alleged drug dealing?
Are the cops hoping to break a largest case(ie the whole distribution network) at the expenses of the growing number of his victims?

Ray J Police Shooting LAPD Investigates

Ray J had a bizarre encounter with cops Wednesday ... one minute being ordered out of his car and the next taking pics with them ... and the pics have triggered an LAPD investigation.

Ray was tooling around in his new Bentley in the San Fernando Valley when the 2 officers noticed he was holding his cell phone ... appearing to text.

Ray J tells TMZ ... the 2 cops pulled him over and told him it was illegal to text and drive. They were also suspicious about the car because it had no license plate but a customized "RJ" frame.

Ray tells us ... he explained he was not texting but simply struggling to connect his blue tooth. The cops then ran his license and registration, came back to the car and warned him if he was texting he shouldn't do it anymore. They also asked if he was in the music business.

It seems like that should be the end of the story ... but it was just beginning. Ray tells us the 2 cops ordered him out of the car and he was panicked things would go downhill. He got out, and Ray says the cops then asked if they could take a few pics with him.

The cops took cell phone photos and then Ray asked if they would return the favor and take a few pics on his cell phone -- they obliged, and we have the pics.

Our law enforcement sources tell us ... the LAPD has now launched an internal affairs investigation. An LAPD big wig tells TMZ ... it's against policy for cops to take a pic with a driver after letting him off the hook because it creates an appearance of impropriety.

On the bright side ... it's a better result than Ray's run-in with the Bev Hills PD. He allegedly kicked out a patrol car window and spit on a cop, and he's been charged with 4 crimes.
