Rainy season starting-what bags/shoes do you wear?

Hi Chanel connoisseurs,

now that rainy season has started here in California, I am too scared to wear any of my designer bags/shoes. What bags and shoes do you wear to look stylish? Or do you treat your leathers and still carry them in the rain? Thank you!

Not any Chanel for me. And not necessarily stylish lol. Sam Edelman Tinsley Chelsea rain boots and Prada Nylon camera bag. The nylon isn’t really waterproof, but def carefree!

Generally not Chanel when it’s rainy. I would reach for LV Epi leather or Damier Ebene. Another favorite is a Celine pebbled leather tote. For shoes, I like Aquatalia booties.

Do you pre-treat your LV bags to protect them from the rain? If not then they don’t change color from rain? Thanks!

Every year I have this dilemma It’s always my patent black WOC. Its a few years old but still looks perfect!
Wore it last night to dinner.
I also wear my black Epi Alma BB when it rains. Needs no treatment.

To me mostly LV Damier Ebene prints bags are #1 choice, and Chanel "patent leather" Jumbo and mini & WOC are #2 choice in rainy days

I went shopping yesterday at an outdoor mall. I wore my black caviar WOC since it fits well under my rain coat. Since I was wearing a coat, any extra items such as sunglasses fit easily in the pocket of my coat. So the WOC was perfect for credit cards, cash, my phone and a lipstick. And I wore my Chanel rubber rain boots. The top portion is tweed, but the bottom is rubber. They do great in any weather condition.

Patent leather is basically leather coated with vinyle.

I live in the Pacific Northwest. I use my classic flap in caviar year round. Rain, snow, sleet and the occasional sunshine too. I’d hardly get to use it if I waited for nice weather. The only leathers I’ve been cautioned specifically about were some of the items at Hermes. What is supposed to happen if you take a Chanel bag out in the rain?

I don’t own Chanel yet. I’m in this forum learning and I’m using a LV Graceful with a huge fat vachetta strap. I just don’t care anymore. Bring on the rain.
