Rainboot help!

Hi Ladies! I need help with rainboots

I live in NYC and walk a lot. I like the hunter wellies, but everyone has them, so I want something else.
My winter boots were the Sorel Joan of Arc boots and while they are stylish, they aren't for me (they were a present). They are just too over the top. Also, they are heavy and difficult to walk in.

I need a pair of rain boots that don't feel like lugs on my feet, are comfortable to walk in, are stylish, but understated. Also, I don't want to spend more than $70.

Any suggestions??

These in the charcoal color maybe? I have a pair of burberry rainboots and they are comfortable. I would highly recommend a pair. They have this one pair (which you may be able to get in the outlet still) that is all black with a small little piece that says burberry at the top shaft of the boot. It is very low key and no one would know unless they really take a look at your boots.

Try to get some hunter wellies on sale. I just bought my second pair, they are fantastic. They come in a variety of colors and shines and they are so comfy. As long as you don't get them to small, they feel great. I would wear them even when it isn't raining if I thought I could get away with it without looking crazy.

hm does anyone know if there are rainboots half the height or a bit lower as I'm only 5'3 and I think those normal boots look a bit stupid on me ;)

Jimmy Choo has some hunters that are a shorter boot. I like the look of the short Uggs better than the tall ones, too. Go to jimmychoo.com

I have the same issue too. I recently ordered the Cole Haan Lizzie and the shaft height was 15 inches. They looked ridiculous on me.

I have a pair of pucci rain boots. They're definitely not as tall as my Hunters and super light. Mine are crazy patterned but you can find some that are not as crazy.

My rain boots are Esprit -- they're pink with lime green polka dots and soles. Tons of fun, and IIRC they were only $30-something. Try places like Macy's and Target. Rain boots are all over the place these days, much more so than when I was first looking about six or seven years ago.

For stuff that's available online, I like Chooka rain boots a LOT. They make traditional styles in really cool materials and patterns. My favorite is the black Croco Dual Buckle. http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/categorySearch.do?cid=35272&mlink=20195,1740542&clink=1740542

A bit out of your price range, but these are a couple of non-traditional styles that I think are really great:
Sperry Sausalito -- http://www.zappos.com/sperry-top-sider-sausalito-black-patent
Kate Spade Randi -- http://www.zappos.com/kate-spade-randi-lipstick-pink-rubber
London Fog Wales (looks like the Loeffler Randall Matilde) -- http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=51776&vid=1&pid=615553&scid=615553002

Also, according to their front page Endless is currently having $15 off $60 rain boot orders (and of course free shipping).

i used to own these equestrian rain boots ($48 from UO) before i switched over to hunters. they're affordable, sleek, and pretty attractive looking for rainboots. however, they didn't last me very long (i walk a lot, and i assume you will in ny), but UO was good about letting me return them.

hunters are the way to go! i wear them all the time and they really do last.

there's also tretorn + kamik.

as you can see,... i did some extensive research after my UO ones ripped... i am a diehard fan of rainboots and coats.

I just came across these Ilse Jacobsen rainboots in a blog - they look pretty cool. I like the ones with the buckles too. Does anyone have these? Do you like them?

Browns also does a look-alike version of the Hunter rainboots. I like how they're plain and have no logos, but I wonder if they would be as comfortable as the Hunters.
