Radiant cut diamond solitaire

Question: I just picked out a beautiful 1 carat radiant cut solitaire to have set into a prong set stationary pendant on a 16" chain. But now I don't know if I should set it north/south or east/west. Since it is similar in proportion to an emerald cut and rectangular in shape, I have the option to do both. Any thoughts? I can't find pics online of any examples since it is not a common stone to set in a necklace.

And if anyone has pics of a radiant cut solitaire (earrings, necklace, rings, etc), then please feel free to post so I can admire. Thanks!

Either way, you're going to have a stunner!

For a pronged necklace, it is certainly more traditional to set it n/s. I think it would amazing, though, if it was bezeled and set e/w. I love e/w settings, but I do think they look best with bezels.

If the necklace is 16" will it lay close to your neck like a choker?

If it is very close to the neck, I think the east/west direction is better.

If the necklace lays further down, e.g. it dips past the collarbone, the north/south is traditional and elongates your neck.

I do plan on wearing it at 16" which sits just below my collar bone. I appreciate your feedback and your suggestion makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

I am going with just a 4 prong setting that is directly attached to the chain as opposed to the "rabbit ear" sliding pendant (if that makes sense). I opted out of the bezel setting b/c I wanted less metal and more stone.

My e-ring is radiant and DH has been asking me what I want as a gift for our first year anniversary and you just gave me a great idea! I think E/W would look unique, but N/S looks gorgeous too!
