I watch A lot of the older QVC Dooney presentations. I really like Sue Clifton. I don’t know if she’s retired, but I hope she’s somewhere in the company as an executive. She is so knowledgeable and great on camera, describing the bags( leather, color, and features ). I like Adrianne Kiss, the new representative for Dooney. She is fresh and being a younger woman, I can see her bringing many younger ladies over to the Dooney brand. I wonder if the representatives of Dooney and Bourke have a clause of brand loyalty, meaning they can only be seen carrying Dooney and Bourke.

I'm pretty sure Sue retired after a long career with Dooney in many positions.
And I miss her very knowledgeable presentations. The newer Dooney reps on QVC
do a pretty good job, but their presentations don't contain as much info as I would
like to see. I don't know if that the direction they get from QVC, Dooney, or their
own styles. These days we rarely hear about all the measurements during a
presentation. And no one points out all the unique features of a handbag....
like belting or twist strap, etc. It's all very generic.... put up another bag and
say almost the same thing as on the last one.

I miss Sue and the many presentations she used to do with lots of color choices. I read that her husband passed away a few years ago. There were rumors she might come back but its been a couple of years since I read that. I remember staying up late to see her premiere something at midnight on those Dooney weekends. She was great!

I love looking at ALL THE COLORS that were available years ago. It was nice that put all the sizes in the same presentation to give you a sense of what size was what comparing them together. I’ve seen a couple of HSN Dooney presentations and it was like night and day. The dooney rep on HSN was horrible. I’m looking like does she really work for dooney?
I'm sad to hear that Sue”s husband passed. I really hope she is doing well. I would like to let her know that she is STILL influencing new customers many years later. I wish her many blessings.

I've been watching some of the recent Dooney shows on QVC.
I love seeing the handbags, the new styles and the colors.
However, I can't help thinking the productions have gone
backwards, as if they forgot all the things that worked before
and have a new crew that's trying to come up with ideas.

The flow is awkward.... with the host and Dooney rep walking back
and forth to a tiny 'touring' stable. It just looks tacky, in my opinion.
Are they trying to mimic a high-top table in a bar or coffee shop?
Does that appeal to viewers?

And the labels stuck on the back of bags so the host will get the color
correct? With most bags limited to 6 or fewer colors, there must be
a classier way.

And often the styling details of the handbag aren't even mentioned....
the trim, belting, tassels, not to mention handle and strap drop and
complete measurements including width.

The Dooney reps seem to have mastered the products but they appear
to be following the hosts lead in terms of what they talk about.... and often
it's generic brand stuff or hosts stories.

And why can't presentations on QVC2 have all the handbag colors on set?
Flashing to computer images does not display the colors well or make the
presentation effective.

OK, done with my mini rant.

Y noticed this as well. If the names are taped on the bags, which I’ve seen ‘masking tape’ used on Florentine leather, wtf?! Why does the host continually call out the wrong color? Reading is fundamental yeah?! I’ve made comments about missing sue clifton because of the various points you have made. It’s like night and day seeing her present the bags and the newer reps.
I don’t like the colors shown on the screen either, because you can’t really get a sense of the color on screen as you can when it’s in front of the camera, zooming in and seeing the textures, the vividness of the colors. Very good points LJ. Also the prices on qvc are sometimes more, way more, than online dooney, I❤️dooney, or ild eBay. Sure they have easy pay, but so do dooney and I❤️dooney that are interest free and you always get free shipping on ild ebay, even if you only get one small item. QVC needs a suggestion box….
love your rant! It makes a lot of sense .

I do hope D&B lurk this forum to see what customers are saying.

For clarity, I haven’t watched much QVC presentations. But those I have, it seems the hosts are rushed. So I’m assuming, other presentations took more time than scheduled, which then took time from D&B presentations.

I agree @mushroomNgrass! QVC prices are insanely higher! That video you sent me of the Flo mail satchel review; the woman said she bought it off QVC, when it was for sale much cheaper on Dooney. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

As for the colors, and new collections - I think D&B should send samples out to their remaining outlet stores; that way potential buyers could get a sense of the new collection items. And SA’s could help customers purchase [said new product] from Dooney in store.

It’s like the sales are on dooney, I❤️D, or ild eBay, but no sales on qvc.

i also don’t like you have 30 days to try the bag out, use the bag, and then return the bag. Say what now?! Looking back at that pre ordered chestnut tilton that I got from dooney.com, is that what happened? A used bag no tags no nothing? That one experience has really traumatized me.
I do understand qvc has an as is section that are the bags that were returned or used for presentations. I do like that they give u the option to purchase a used return as opposed to just sending them out and pretending they’re new bags. I’ve seen plenty of videos complaining about not receiving a new bag from dooney.

I'm not only the president, I’m also a client, reference to my unboxing of that chestnut used Tilton VS navy NEW Tilton

Dooney has a presentation on the Q at midnight EST which means Dooney has a TSV. It has been a long time. I always bought the Dooney TSVs until the last few years. The “recent” ones were not interesting enough or seemed like corners were cut to justify the lower price. For instance, a simple Florentine hobo with a thin braided strap. Anyway, I will be staying up to see what it is with great anticipation!

Thanks for the heads-uo. It's always fun to see more Dooney presentations and
a TSV can give us a glimpse of colors and styles to come. It's true, that because
a QVC TSV is a 'customer order' and a large quantity, Dooney will often customize
the design, style, size, leather, features to meet QVC requests and price point.
Manufactures often do this for large customers. Dooney also does it for
Dillard's offering Dillard's exclusives... exotic leathers and special colors.
Sometimes these customized offerings seem simplified or stripped down
(especially to us collectors who know the inventory and have a lot of bags).
But sometimes they have extra features, like outside pockets, longer handles/straps,
or even accessories.

In general, over the last few years I've seen more 'budget' collections from
Dooney , Michael Kors, and Coach, etc. .... less refinement, less lux leathers, etc.
Dooney craftsmanship still seems to be good, even for lower end handbags,
but I see more drawstrings where the grommets aren't trimmed (reinforced) with metal,
or the slide is poorly crafted. Others have noticed shorter tassels. And let's not talk
about cross body straps that are too thin.

Also styles change.... gone are the belted and tasseled Florentine handbags. In place
are simpler and cleaner designs. Some of this is fashion dictated, and some is
probably related to the cost of all that additional leather and labor.
Alto bags have always had more understated designs, but even there, I miss some of the
more refined details on the older Alto styles.
