This super cute bag arrive today. My first black Dooney. It’s the quilted spicy messenger. It’s really clean and it’s lightweight. It's an adorable small/medium crossbody. Non detachable strap. My iPad 11 pro fits. It’s got gold hardware and a leather key keeper… I think it’s an older style because it has a snap on the inside slip pocket. I don’t know what this material is. I wanna say it’s saffiano leather? I love the 2 snap opening, two front pockets, and large back pocket. This will definitely fit over my winter coat. The quilted shoulder pad is great. I’m gonna have to look this bag up to see what this quilted material is. I am very pleased she made it into my collection…

It’s really cute. And from this bag I know I will not want the Florentine saddle bag. The depth is not what I expected. From the outside it is very deceiving , looks bigger with all the quilting. The outside pockets make up for it tho. Nevertheless I do like it and I’ll move in and see what fits and how it carries this weekend. I feel this will be an excellent winter carry since the closure is very secure and the crossbody strap will fit my huge down coat as a reg shoulder bag. With the ice and snow, if I slip or the bag God forbid falls, my junk won’t be all over the place on the ground in the snow.

Consensus on Facebook says this bag is nylon. Alrighty then. Got my first nylon dooney and I am very impressed with the texture. I couldn’t tell what it was by touch. So stinking cute. I approve dooney nylon LOL

I have learned to love Dooney nylon handbags.
I'm a leather snob and had no interest in nylon or coated canvas, etc.
for many years. You could say I started at the top of the Dooney pile and
worked my way down to the more affordable options later on.

But, I have discovered that many of the Dooney nylon handbags are
very good quality, both in materials and construction.
I can't speak to the bag you got, but the ones I have, with leather handles
and trim, are as well made as many of the Dooney leather bags I have
and the quality of the nylon is excellent. The nylon bags I have are
substantial.

Enjoy your new handbag. The only downside seems to be that the
material wasn't properly disclosed when you bought the bag.
But if you like it and will find it useful, then chalk it up to a
preloved lesson that will make you an even better handbag hunter in
the future.

I think I have this Florentine saddle bag or one very similar.
I know it came in 2 sizes, but I think the one posted is the larger one,
which is the size I have.
I think one size had a leather strap and the other maybe a canvas
strap. I bought ithe bag new, from ILD, on sale. within the last 2 years
I think. It was much less than $250. I will try to find the receipt if it's
still in my ILD info.

Yes I saw the smaller Ellie version. Too small for me. im very pleased with this quilted nylon messenger. It does have leather trim and strap. The material is very substantial. The quilts don’t stay indented when handled, they puff right back up and I really like that. I feel like I will get my moneys worth out of this bag. It’s cute and fun. It’s a material I won’t have to worry about. It will hold my iPad plus whatever I need for the day, no problem if I need to downsize a bit. Back pocket holds my phone, great. I don’t have to worry about any scratches, a BIG plus. #winning
