Hello ladies,

I have a little dilemma, and I would much appreciate your input :)

I suddenly had the urge for Chanel's quilted framed bag. However, I can't seem to find one. Honestly, I've only been to two stores so far, but unfortunately, I don't have the time right now to go searching

So... should I buy a Marc Jacobs Stam instead? I'm torn because it's not my #1 pick (I hear it's really heavy, and it's resemblance to Chanel bothers me little, though this may also be what draws me to this bag). However, I do really want a quilted framed bag right now, and the Stam will satisfy that immediate "need". Also, given the Stam's lower price point, I'm less likely to regret this impulse ;)

Do you mean this one? It's one of my faves.

If so, the code is 08A A39160 Y04788 94305 (Black) and you could call the Chanel hotline to find out if it's in stock anywhere.
(This is the only bag of mine I have a code for LOL!)
Good luck!

I am by no means a Chanel expert, but I think that Expat's bag might be an older version. I got this one during the first part of the year. It does not have a clasp and has a kiss clasp.

Or maybe mine is the older one!

oh, and by the way, it was starting to rain when I took the pictures, so there are drops of water on the bag!!

I believe Expat and the bag above are part of Spring 2008 Mademoiselle collection.

Thanks for the pictures, ssc0619!! :D Now I'm not sure which one I like better! Is that patent leather? Sometimes the glazed lambskin looks like patent leather in photos...

Do you know whether that style also came out in glazed lambskin?

Mine is a patent too. I never saw any version except what I have. I generally don't like patent but I like this one!! :smile1:

This line was not patent leather although it looks like it. It is glazed calfskin.
Judy.

As Judy says, it's Glazed Calfskin not patent (I'm not sure what the difference is, tbh, will google in a mo ;) )

No stickiness and, as far as I can see, not cracking. It's not as stiff as the patents, but nowhere near as soft as other leathers.

I've used it a LOT!

Aha! A quick google:

PATENT leather is plastic coated leather.
GLAZED leather is polished to a high lustre by passing through glass or steel rollers under great pressure.

Been meaning too find out the difference for ages!
