Tory Burch Questions re: Tory Burch Verbena (Nordstroms Anniversary Sale)

I was just wondering if anyone has received or picked up their Tory Burch shoes from Nordstroms. The Verbena's are the ones that were included in the Anniversary Sale.

I picked mine up this evening and I just pulled them out to examine them. I noticed that several of the "scales" are either starting to peel or the tips/edges are completely white. Seeing this, my first thought was "Are these actually python/snakeskin?" I know that actual python skins are flaky and uneven and this is normal. But I wouldn't have expected this with "faux" snakeskin, which according to the catalog, is what these are made from

I guess I'm just wondering if this is only going to get worse? Do you think the scales will start to peel the more you wear the shoes (and what might happen to them if they get wet)?

I have a feeling these may be going back -- unless I hear some reassuring stories from somebody else that either has these shoes or has a similar pair.

I'm guessing they weren't as popular as last year's Romy's
I'm taking mine back today -- I just don't think they're all that comfortable and I'm not really happy with all the scales that are peeling (esp if it's faux snakeskin) I can only see it getting worse

I actually bought them; just received the shoes via UPS. While I do find the shoes to be comfortable, your assessment re: the scales peeling was unfortunately not an isolated case. I'll be returning mine as well, which stinks as I'll need to look for another pair of comfy and versatile flats.

I actually just read in the Nordstroms Anniversary Sale thread that these shoes had been recalled due to the scales peeling -- Looks like I made the right decision in returning them!!
