Hello friends:love:
I am new to tPF, and I am sitting in my home office lusting after all of the beautiful purses that you all have. Well to introduce myself, I am Tammy, I'm a SAHM for a beautiful daughter, she's 8.

Now on to the PURSES :hbeat:

I'm buying a Swagger 37 Python embossed, does anyone have any thoughts on this being my FIRST coach bag? Should I look at a more classic style instead? Please help ladies! :girlsigh:

Welcome. I love swagger. I have my eye on two more. I think any bag you love is a classic!!!

Welcome! The Swagger is a great bag--going to be a classic, I am sure. Do you like really big bags? Have you carried the 37?

It's a gorgeous bag. You may want to try it on if you haven't already. The Swagger is a heavy bag. I don't have a 37, and I didn't get it because I thought it would be too heavy.

Hope you post photos when you get it!

I think your choice for your first Coach is fabulous. I've had my eye on the same bag for a while now.
I think Swagger will be one of those classic styles that one can carry season after season. ( even though Coach will probably discontinue it before it has a chance to become a signature style of theirs. )
I can't speak of the Swagger's weight vs a Birkin's because I've never even laid eyes on a Birkin, let alone held one. Swagger is a fairly hefty bag, but I'm thinking you can probably handle the weight.
I second posting a reveal of your bag when you get her. The Coach site's pictures rarely do the bags justice.

Welcome to the Coach Zone! ( and welcome to tPF in general...lol )

The bag you chose is absolutely stunning! I've been really drawn to blue bags this year.

Don't worry about "classic". It if is something that is "you" then it will always be classic for your style.

Welcome to tPF! :smile1:

Have you seen this bag in person? I just want to alert you that the blue color on the belt is the same as the rest, instead of a three-tone Coach showcases for their stock photos. It's more like a larger denim version of the watermellon red colorblock. Here are a few pictures one of the SA's was kind enough to take for me:

Thank you for the extra photos lovingmybags! :hugs:

I wonder why they would try and make it look tritonal? That just seems like a lot of work to photoshop the picture to mislead buyers. That is definitely something to consider now.

I don't think they photoshopped it. That picture is probably the original design, and then they changed the specs before it went into production. This happens sometimes with Coach.

Another thought: It may be how it's been photographed. The embossed part is shinier than the matte trim and with the lighting and the flash, it may have washed out with the reflection from it. In the in-store photos the lighting is different. Coach never does themselves any favors with their stock photos.
