Hi everyone, so I was never really into the dbty style before, but today while I was at tiffanys I decided to try them on just for fun. and wow! it was so pretty! The chain was so dainty that the diamonds looked like they were floating on my wrist :D

I did a little research after I came back and decided that I will get it at another place instead of tiffanys. The biggest reason is that the chain looked very thin and I am quite a careless person and I just don't want to invest too much in it.

I have narrowed it down to two places: Brian Gavin and Whiteflash. I have heard that with the whiteflash, one the back of the diamonds tend to poke a little and can be uncomfortable. With Brain Gavin, I don't like the claspe as much, it looks a bit chunky. Would appreciate it if anyone who purchased from these two places can share their thoughts.

One more question is, how many diamonds for the bracelet? I have seen 5, 6, 7, 8. Is it just a matter of preference and price? Does it make a difference it it is even or odd number of diamonds?

Thank you very much for any input!

Bump

Can anyone share what they heard about DBTY from Whiteflash or Brian Gavin? I would like to start contacting a vendor and start working on the bracelet. With BGD the only thing I didn't like is the claspe, it looks big and is oval instead of the round type.

p.s. sorry about so many typos in my original message, I did it on my iphone :)

I recently purchased DBTY necklace from BGD, and the chain is more delicate/thin than Tiffany's. I got it on Friday and the chain broke 2days later. They said the chain was defective and offered to fix it, but I returned it because the chain was so delicate and I was planning on wearing it everyday without taking it off. I don't know if they use same chain for bracelet, but the chain on the necklace was VERY delicate.

I don't know about Whiteflash, I've never seen their DBTY. I think Bluenile has sturdier chains than Tiffany.

i had bgd make me a one stone dbty style bracelet. after about 6 wearings the clasp, a spring ring, broke off. i choose to have a local jeweler put a lobster claw clasp on it and it has been fine. mine was platinum with a blue sapphire. the chain is very delicate. i would like to see one a little thicker. i am thinking i would like to have a rose gold ball chain with a .50-.75 ct diamond.

eta: mine was done over a year ago and was custom.

I have a Tiffany DBTY bracelet which I never take off, so I can only try to help you as far as how many diamonds. I have six and for me, that is perfect for two reasons. One, I like the way they are spaced. And second, I have "assigned" each diamond to a loved one.

This may sound anal, but I keep a trial sized bottle of Dawn dishwashing liquid (it's very tiny) on the shelf in my shower. Everyday after I shower, I take a drop of Dawn and rub each diamond while saying that person's name. Mom, Dad, DH, DD, etc. I always start at the clasp with the tag, so like I said, each has their own diamond. Some of the loved ones are gone, and this is my little way of making sure I think of everyone on a daily basis. And my diamonds are beautiful and shiny everyday (of course rinse well!)! I did not purchase the bracelet so I could do this, but when I was trying to choose between 5 or 6 diamonds, it hit me and helped make my decision. I'm tempted to delete this because I know it could sound really weird...lol.

Since some have already posted about their bracelets breaking from other places, I just wanted to mention the quality of mine. I have had it for well over a year and have never taken it off. On occasion, I have pulled it accidentally on a piece of clothing, towel, and even a RAZOR BLADE (I shave my arms...TMI but I wanted to make a point). The bracelet is as new as the day I got it. Yes, it was expensive for what it is, but it was really worth it to me.

I think sk purchased one from Brian Gavin and Tiffany before she got her bluenile. If I remember correctly she said that of the three, blue Nile has the sturdiest chain and she never takes it off without a problem.

Good luck deciding!

I have a DBTY from Whiteflash. I had a great experience with them and I love my DBTY necklace. It is 14Kt white gold with several different sizes of
diamonds. I wear it doubled or as one long necklace. I will see if I have a photo. I had it custom made at Whiteflash and would highly recommend them~

I have a yg dbty 5-station necklace from Tiffany's and wear it everyday......LOVE IT & no problems whatsoever. Was it a ridiculous amount of $$ - YES, do I regret it - NO. (Pls note I work in jewelry store and just could not find a replica of the Tiffany's one which I love due to the style of bezel and other design factors.)

I feel the same way, I work for a company that owns jewellery stores and a watch company so i'm around jewellery ALL THE TIME and no other dbty style compares to the quality of the dbty from tiffany. I have had my platinum dbty bracelet for 2 years and have taken it off twice to clean and it hasn't been damaged at all (either diamond, bezel, or chain) by daily wear its very sparkely! as Bagaday said it is expensive theres no denying that but for the cost/wear that I've gotten out of it....best jewellery purchase I have made. I have various other dbty's from tiffany including a necklace, but the platinum one I wear 24/7. I just bought the YG 0.08 diamond bracelet and they compliment each other nicelydbty yellow gold and plat.jpg

i have had a single diamond DBTY style pendant from brian gavin for about three months now, and i love it! fortunately, i have not experienced any quality issues with workmanship, and the diamond itself is amazing.

I have a DBTY bracelet from Tiffany's, platinum, 6 diamonds. LOVE IT! I've worn it everyday since I received it (a few months ago), and I have no intention of taking it off! It feels dainty but it's really not! Good luck in your decision...

I originally wanted one with 5 stones (I tend to like odd number groupings better - photos grouped into 3, vases grouped into 5, etc), but they only had the 6 available at the time, and honestly you never see all the stones at once anyway. I also like the spacing on the 6.
