so i just called the lv store to get the tracking # for the galliera they are supposed to replace...sa said she just found out by another store manager that they are not allowed to give that out!!!! im just wondering why??? she was really sweet and nice and said she has no idea herself...so do yall know why they cant give it out? she said, "if you dont receive it by friday, call me and ill give it to you then..." how odd?!?!

This policy of not giving out tracking numbers isn't unique to LV; a lot of designers won't give them out when you order from them (Gucci and Hermès to name a couple). Supposedly it's to keep the package from being intercepted by a third party posing to be you. Theoretically, someone can call the boutique ask for the tracking number, call the shipping company, and have the delivery address changed. It doesn't make sense to me because eLuxury gives out tracking numbers when they send out LV. If you want to track your package, you can give the boutique a call and they will track it for you and tell you the status over the phone.

Yup, that would be why... I worked for a high-end jeweler some time ago and we never gave out tracking numbers for that exact reason. We were more than willing to give the current status of the package to a client, but not the tracking number.
