Question regarding stamp on older epi bags

Hello ladies,

I ordered an Epi off of ebay- had it authenticated here

Received it- it was pretty decent minus a funny smell that one of my vintage LV's has- but I can get rid of that easily.

I have a newer speedy 40 that I purchased 4 years ago so I've been sitting here comparing it to the epi one.

The amount of stitching, placement of the serial number and so forth is all ok.

On the tab on the end of my epi- not the one with the lock but the other side the

LOUIS VUITTON
PARIS
MADE IN FRANCE"

is printed as opposed to stamped.

I'd take some pictures but my camera has vanished

I did some more research and learned the serial number corresponds to it being made in France- and I was able to figure out by the numbers in the serial number that it was made in 1993...

which means the bag is 17 years old.

Do you know with older bags if the tab was printed on the EPI's instead of stamped? I've browsed ebay for other authentic speedy's and the epi's all appear to be printed- while the monograms appear to be stamped.

Other than that little issue- the bag checks out.

Do you mean stamped and able to rub off or stamped into (leaving indentation)?

The outside tab on the speedy not the side with the lock- the other side

The 17 year old epi leaves no indentation- while the newer speedy monogram leaves indentation...

wondering if this is common on older epis

The stamp is also harder to read on the epi... but once again it is quite old

Yes, that is common on vintage Epi
