when you buy pre-owned bag you can't be 100% of what the previous owner could have done to it, i.e. re-dyed? applied a tinted conditioner that was not fit for leather?
don't just give up on it without trying
I have a suede City, metallic edge and it's been fine. The colour never rubbed off (I guess the previous owner didn't spray it with anything) but I did in fact spray the bag right away with Collonil like I do with any of my handbags.
I haven't had any problems with it getting dirty either, it's just that the suede handles get a little rough, like it's not dirty, I guess it's just the suede rubbing off a bit over time
