I am hoping to get some feedback about possibly taking a Pegase 55 to get repaired but not by LV.

This is my sisters suitcase. She took it out of her closet recently to take on a trip. She found the zipper ripping (which she realizes is wear, this is not new or anything) She showed me and said she would probably get it done when she came back and did I know if LV would be able to do it. I told her I was pretty sure that would not be a problem. While she was away with her suitcase she noticed all the rubber (bumper) pieces on the sides were literally crumbling and coming of the bag. She asked me if I could take it in for for her to ask about the zipper and bumpers and one of the side vachetta handles was a little loose so she told me to ask about that too. And yes, expecting to pay as the suitcase is several years old. Not trying to claim defects etc.

Fast forward I finally take her suitcase to Manhasset as I didn't want to take it on the train to 5th Ave. They were very nice and finally the lady helping me was able to get on the register computer to look everything up to try and give me a price. I was shocked. 695.00 for a ZIPPPER? 630.00 for some rubber and 195.00 for the handle (ok not too bad) but 1520.00 to fix the suitcase????? I politely thanked the lady for helping me and said since it was coming to so much I'd have to let my sister decide.

So to the main point of my story, I am wondering if anyone knows of a reputable repair shop that will do this type of work? It's a lot of $$$ to fix, but it would be a shame as the canvas, wheels, main handle even the vachetta, etc. are all in good shape.

Sorry my post got a little long. Thanks for any recommendations in advance! :)

Hey there. That's a very pretty penny. Have you tried to get a quote through the Mobile App? I feel like the prices are usually a little lower for some reasons.

Is this the main zipper? Because for that, they need to completely disassemble the whole thing. And when they need to do that with any bag, they usually charge top dollar for it.
The Mobile App is a great idea. Hopefully will be more reasonable.

Don’t do it! I had a horrible botched strap replacement and leather rim replacement on my LV neverfull bag and now I’m so sad!

Leather surgeon you can send them an email with pics to get a price.they have worked on a Birkin and Chanel I had and everything turned out amazing. If it was my bag I would send it to them. Good luck.
