For those that have shopped at the Capri or Portofino stores in Italy, is it true that their receipts are hand written ?

I'm interested in a bag and the seller is in Europe. She produced a receipt that has the Hermes Capri header (including the address) but the whole receipt was hand written. That is back in 2012 and I've doubts that they are so behind or run the old fashioned way that warrants a hand written receipt.

Here is the link and is the last photo:

TIA.

I can’t answer your question, but the receipt bears a custom stamp from customs in Thonex, a border city near Geneva, which is consistent with the seller location. Handwritten receipt for VAT-refund purposes ? Swiss-resident would be eligible, since Switzerland is not part of the EU.

The mention “fattura - recivuta fiscale” at the bottom “invoice - tax receipt” - Google “recivuta fiscale in Italy” for more information about that specific document.

Regarding hand-written receipts in Italy, I lived there for many years and although I have experience with many of the Italian Hermès boutiques, Capri is not one of them. However, I can comment on the fact that in many smaller shops especially in smaller towns, hand-written receipts are not uncommon. Hope that helps somewhat.
