Question on Gucci Jackie tote

I'm considering this tote that I loved in the store. My only question is the "belt-like" material in the front with the Gucci colors. Does this material wear or fray over time? I'm used to buying all leather or canvas bags, so I wasn't sure. Thanks in advance!

The web-stripe is pretty hardy but you wouldn't want to brush it against a brick wall IYKWIM.
