Question on bodysuit underwear

Hello Ladies!

I have been seeing bodysuit underwear/ garment in lingerie shops, but never understood how it was used!
To me, they look like swim wear..but not suitable to replace sleepwear nor bra and undies... hmmm


Can anyone break my curiosity?

I'm not sure I would sleep in shapewear but there are some styles that might work for that purpose
I usually wear Spanx to give the illusion of a smoother top & bottom
I like thininstincts ( think that is what it is called)
So many of us sleep in a cami with panties.. & comfy at the same time
