Hi!

I occasionally use Fashionphile for certain purchases (like Chanel!) if I can find a bag in excellent or new condition on the site.
I was looking today at the Gucci bags. I have a Marmont Matalasse mini camera style bag that we bought straight from Gucci for $980. But looking at Fashionphile, they’re selljng for more than normal retail price? I know the nude color was on backorder for awhile but I just checked the Gucci site and black and nude are both available for purchase for $980. I even double checked that the bags I was seeing posted for $1,050 and more were the mini size also. Anyone know why Fashionphile would be doing this? I’ve only seen it before on hard-to-find items.

It’s a business. They have to make money. Once they buy an item off someone they can sell it for what they want. Many customers are willing to pay a little extra if the item is not available in their country or they really want the product. I don’t think there is any harm. You get a lot of discounted items too. :)

Yes, they did it again with a Gucci cosmetic bag going for 495 and on the Gucci site it is only 390. I personally think it sucks how they do this. They do make a lot of money and I really think that this just shows greed. IMO, of course.

I don’t have a problem with it. Lots of stuff sells on eBay for higher price. And sometimes items are hard to get and people are willing to pay a premium. I may not be willing to pay more but if someone else is not my problem.
