Question for those of you who have porcelain veneers

Hi,

i was wondering if dentists normally charge for temporary veneers that they place prior to installing the permanent porcelain veneers? Mine do, and I am not sure if this is normal practice or if they are overcharging.

Mine didn't, but I had a firm price quote upfront for everything.

How long did you keep the temporary ones?

I have to go through a crown lenghtening surgery and the temporary would be for 4 months rather than 2 weeks and it’s only for one tooth so I wonder if this is the reason why they are charging...

DH did it and also had an up front quote.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking too... I am only getting one porcelain veneer due to a micro-tooth and have to also get a crown lenghtening procedure. It takes a couple of months to heal so I need a composite (temporary) veneer before the porcelain one can be inserted... It is a lot of money for one tooth!!
