I have the 1941 duffle in tabac/carmine. I've had it about 2 months, and it doesn't look like it's darkened at all. Hmmmm.... since it's treated (with color, I assume), I can't imagine it would darken. I thought only natural leathers would darken. I'm pretty certain the duffles and saddle bags are the same leather.

I have no idea why your SA said that, but mine hasn't darkened at all. According to that logic, any glove-tanned leather in saddle would change color, but they don't based on what I've seen.
