Okay so I was wondering where all of the fellow cdns order when you order on line? The US site will only deliver within the states and they said that you need to order from your store. Now I have been lurking on the luxuryscarves site and have found some beauties. Also my mother would like to order some for me but she never ever goes to Toronto.

Hermes doesn't offer online shopping for Canadians unless you have an address in the USA. I think it depends how close you live to the US border. I live about 5 minutes away from the US border and use the services of a local package shipping/receiving business on the US side for any purchases made on US websites. I buy an item online, have it shipped to this mail receiving business and then drive across the border to pick it up (only $2 per package). As for Hermes, it's quite a bit cheaper right now for Canadians to buy Hermes in the USA because Canadian dollar is really strong. I just converted a bunch of Cdn dollars to US dollars at $1.043 Cdn for $1 US. I hope Candian Hermes will adjust their prices soon according to the strength of Cdn dollar.

Lucky you being so close to the border. Yeah it kinda sucks that cdns can't order online unless you have a us address...which I do not have. So I guess that it will be going into the stores them selves or luxuryscarves.com for me. And the us dollar is great right mow to buy for us.....:)

I'd suggest you give a call to the Toronto H boutique 1-416-968-8626. SA's are very nice. They may be able to help you over the phone and then ship the goodies to your location.

In addition to making purchases in Canada, I sometimes stop by H in U.S. or Europe on my vacation trips or other trips. It's much faster and less expensive. Shipments in Toronto are good - but a long wait is expected if one looks for something specific.

Good luck!

I have bought from various resellers from the "reputable" list and they ship to Canada. I always ask for anything to be shipped by US post (insured/sig req'd) because it is handed off to Canpost which only charges 5$ handling as opposed to fedex or ups that can charge $20-50 for brokerage and then duty on top. I have also found that Canpost rarely collects any duty/handling so most of the time the postman hands me the package nothing due. Woot Woot

Maybe if you connect with one SA you can leave your credit card on file so they could do a charge/send? I have heard of US tpfers doing this but I don't know about Canada.

I am going down to the new Bellevue store soon so will find out if they will charge/send to Canada but I doubt it.

I think there are a few companies popping up that will forward to us Cdns but I think there fees are high. I was looking at Kitson online and that hollywood store had a link to one of those companies.

I too have purchased from Luxury-Shop (great service and fast, fast, fast delivery) and several other reputable resellers like Iris168, sandiexchange and lcynskydmnds (or something like that) and a few others. I have never had a problem.

I am in Toronto but if I know the reseller is going to list full price on customs forms I have it shipped to my office in Calgary because they dont have provincial sales tax - gotta love oil+gas!

I have done transfers within Canada but never gotten the Toronto store to bring anything in for me from another country.

THank you very much Ninalovesherbag and toniec......will definitely try to ship thru US post. Really sucks for us canadians that we can't purchase thru the Hermes site directly and that it is so difficult for us. It is not like we are a remote far off country. Oh well....

Thank you for the info. and the hint re:shipping from the US to Canada. The additional charges eg D/H and duty on previous scarves from the US definitely have to be factored into my purchases.

Maisie.

For Canadian shopping online, I'm not sure if anyone else has used the Calagry? based seller called The Perfect Red Box - I have purchased from them and the service is excellent as well as enthusiastic and they have some items on sale right now.
