Question: Do cards slip out in the 6 Key Holder?

I have to replace my stolen key pouch and I was thinking of getting the 6 key holder instead. I want to use it on occasion to also carry a few cards, but I'm worried that since the space for cards is open on both sides that my cards might slip out. Does anyone have any experience with putting cards in that back slot or input as to the likelihood of them slipping out?

I keep one credit card in that slot and it’s never fallen out. Not sure about putting multiples in there though

I have the key pouch and 6 key holder. The slot behind the 6 key holder doesn’t hold many cards at all maybe 1 or 2 max. If you make it too thick behind you won’t be able to snap it closed properly either. All said from experience!!

i've never had my cards fall out, but i'm gonna echo what others said and say that you can't stuff this piece as much as the cles!

depending on your keys (and whether you have a car key fob in there), it'll probably only fit 1-3 (at the very most) cards before it won't close comfortably. if you're looking for more of a catch-all piece for your extra cards/cash, i'd go for a replacement cles.

i personally use my 6 key holder every day and LOVE it, but it's up to personal preference! when i have to run out of the house really quickly and i don't feel like fussing with one of my bags, i usually just slip my license and 1 card in and call it a day.

edit: i'd like to add that maybe you could look into a recto verso cardholder for the best of both worlds! it comes with a little keyring like a cles, but you can definitely fit a larger amount of cards as well.

I put 3-4 cards in my mono 6 key holder and it fits fine however I don’t carry my car keys in it just house keys only

I keep a transit card in mine. I don't take the train anymore, but it's still there!

I keep my drivers license, a credit card, 2 cash bills and 2 business cards in the 6 key holder and I’ve never had a problem with any of these items slipping out. This is in addition to 4 keys and a car fob. Mine seems to look and close just fine.

I actually did have that problem with my 6 key holder in Epi. I found the slot in that to be looser than the canvas ones, which is odd, but that's the only key holder it ever happened with! I prefer not to keep a card in the slot now unless I'm using my zipped key holder.

I think if you had more than one card in there at a time they would be less likely to slip out.

You guys are awesome! Thank you for the feedback. Since card slippage doesn’t seem to be an issue (at least in the mono) now I just have to decide whether the CLES or 6 key holder will be more practical overall.

Having a bag/accessory obsession is such a struggle

If you are considering the key pouch. I would spend a little more with empriente. I think the canvas key pouch are now a rip off.

I keep my car registration in my key holder slot(it was part of my justification for buying it). It's thick enough that it fits in there snugly so I've never had an issue of it falling out.
I started doing that after my car was broken into because I learned that one of the most common things people steal from cars is registration papers. They can use them for stolen vehicles and fraud so instead of leaving it somewhere like your glove compartment you should actually carry it with you and since I need my keys to drive my car what better place to put it? Quick tip!

I only keep 1 card in the slot (my condo card fob). I don't think you can fit multiple cards in the 6 key holder.

Agree, when I go for a quick grocery store run, put license, debit card and my small medical directive in it. Never has fallen out. Also, can fit the same amount of cards in my 4 key holder.

I have had my key holder for the past decade. It doubles as my wallet and I carry my license, Visa card, and one of those extra thick Amex cards. I also occasionally slip in gift card and receipts. Nothing has ever fallen out. Not even once. It is one luxury item I have used daily. I plan to get another if it ever gets tired. Hope this helps!
