Question about Van Cleef engagement ring

Hi, I am just wondering how much an Van Cleef engagement ring with a diamond of about 1 carat cost? Do they cost more than Tiffany's? thanks in advance

I've never compared prices but I have the catalogue and here are some prices from 2008

diamond solitaire of 0.70 ( EVVS2) set in a platinum mounting with pave diamonds $ 13400

Those are some CRAZAY prices for rings! Very little for the $.

I agree too. I love VC and Tiffany's and everything, but I know someone who got a .80 ct of an engagement ring from Tiffany's and it was $8,000. That's $1,000 for every TENTH of a Carat. Crazaayyy indeed!

Those designer houses have to pay for those pretty stores and marketing somehow!

What is your bottom line objective, MrXXL? Are you wanting to buy a brand and why? Or are you looking for a quick purchase from a trusted retailer even if it costs more? Would you buy from an unconventional but trusted source if you could spend less money? Everyone has something that is driving their decision. What's yours?

Actually, Swanky, nothing shocks me about the big priced design houses that insist on raising prices for no other reason than because they can!

for 13 thousand dollars id expect at LEAST two carats

For $13k I wouldn't expect a big stone from a big label, but you should be able to get a full carat before the $10k mark IMO.
