Question about Tiffany Cupcake Charm

I think you'd have to have a jeweler do it, if Tiffany's won't, because the cupcake charm doesn't have an opening clasp. The enhancer (I think that's right?) would need to be opened, then soldered closed.

You can also use the Tiffany charms as pendants. I have the teddy bear and use it on an 18" Tiffany silver chain. I love the teddy bear!!! The cupcake charm is very cute!!!

^omg ya my friend does that and it looks soo cute!
and idts, unless you have someone else do it besides tiffany. the only bracelet they will put it on the the one that they put the link for on the charm webpage

It turns out they can have it put on but they send it to NYC, which takes two weeks. I ended up not loving it in person though so I am going to go with the "it's a girl" charm with the oval link bracelet. They were out of the charm though so i need to wait for it to come in. Can't wait! The two look really cute together!

the individual charms can be hooked on w/a little piece they sell at Tiffany's, i got it from Tiffany's but i don't remember how much i paid for it. sometimes i like to wear different charms and transfer them to my bracelet or just not use the 'little piece' and wear it as a pendant. it gets the job done. you could call customer service and ask how much it is.

sorry you didn't like the charm in person but this is just a possibility for future purchases.

You know, this just confirms that the guy I was dealing with was a complete idiot. I THOUGHT that another SA had mentioned that jump ring to me a couple weeks ago, but figured I must've misunderstood. I took an hour drive out there and then I got this guy who was just really weird. He was literally talking me out of every thing I looked at. My husband even commented when we left empty handed that it seemed like he kept trying to dissuade me from making a purchase. On top of it, he kept telling me prices of things and they were wrong, which I knew because I had already researched that part online. He also told me that the i should not buy the cupcake or anything enamel because it will chip off:confused1:. I mean, maybe that is true and he was right on that part, but its hard to tell because he kept getting everything else wrong. Then he told me that they were out of the It's a Girl charm but said he could double check on it. I said "ok that would be great", but he just stood there. Finally, we just left and I figured I'd go home and order what I want online. Oh, and then he told me not to get the Oval link bracelet because it doesn't 'slide'. Not even sure what he meant so if anyone knows, please feel free to clue me in!

Anyway, sorry for my rant, but thanks for telling me about the jump ring - that is very good to know:tup:.

oh my gosh, who is this guy! i would not ever expect to find someone like that working at Tiffany's. i don't want to knock on him b/c it wasn't my experience, but just from what you said, sounds like he was on drugs LOL.

the enamel on the cupcake would chip off but that's would be your own decision whether you like it or not.

so, you said you wanted him to double check on the charm "it's a girl" charm and he just STOOD THERE? are you serious?............drugs

definately get the jump ring! thanks for the term

^^Haha, no I honestly don't think he was on drugs. I DO think he was just too old and not really too "with it" to be working for Tiffany. But yeah, he did just stand there when I asked about the charm. It was definitely a very odd experience and he kept babbling to me. I wanted to just say "please stop talking". LOL!

Has anyone else gotten this "jump ring"? I want to order some of the charms that don't have a clip on them at some point but I don't want to send my bracelet in for two weeks and I don't have a Tiffany anywhere near me so I don't know if I could even do that.

I was thinking I could just take it to a local jeweler and have them put it on permanently, would that work?

Try going to the Tiff store and hooking that charm onto the clasp of the bracelet, if not they will definitely accomodate you, either permanently solder it on for you or make it removable.
