Question about the Cabat

I was in Osaka last week and visited a few BV boutiques. At one of the boutique, I was so closed to getting the Cabat in Ebano. The SA told me they just received it that morning but when I looked inside, there is no number engraved on the metal plate. Other Cabats have their numbers engraved. The SA had no explanation for it and they were just as puzzled. I then went to other boutiques and theirs have numbers. I was wondering if the new ones have no numbers engraved. Can anyone advise?

I have never seen a Cabat without a numbered plate
they are limited editions
they only make 500 per season
maybe it was a fluke and made it past quaility control with this error

If that's so, for the year it is made there would be 501 Cabats made.

This is interesting. Was it one of the new Cabat--with the longer handle and slightly deeper sides? I wonder if BV is taking the number off on those and just using the serial as an identifier.

i recently saw an amazing karung cabat and it had a plate and a number. btw it was tdf. i am not a huge fan of karung but the color and texture were amazing.

Not sure if it was the new version but the store received it that very morning.

I would think it was the new cabat
maybe they stopped engraving the plate or stopped putting the plate on altogether

Was it one of the new ones for SS2015? I think it comes in Ciel and banane

I spoke with my friend that still works at BV
she said all the new cabats they received in her store
all have engraved plates

I'm glad I did not get that Cabat. I will be like it is "incomplete".
