In this picture, this pelican has a screw closure.

Hi, I can't see this very clearly but it looks like it's a spring lock, the same as the Pegasus cadena. You put your finger on that little ridge and push down hard, and it opens. It's quite tricky to do!

For re-issues, Hermes is known to have changed the spring action closures to the screw type. But for the Pelican, it is not known if Hermes actually did a re-issue and/or Hermes changed the closure.

Hopefully, the cadena collectors can shed some light on this for you.

wow, this is new to me, so does it mean that Cadenas with spring lock are all originals? A friend has started collecting cadenas recently, I thought I should let her know. Thanks for sharing.

My Pelican, quite old, has a spring lock closure. I was told H changed to the screw lock as the spring locks could break, people were unable to remove them from their bags. But, I did notice the Pegasus re-issues all have spring locks.
