Question about my Cartier auto bb movement

I have an auto bb and lately it's been stopping after ~ 12 hours. I wore it 3 days straight and I left it out around 10pm and put it back on around 9am. I'm wondering if it possible that I broke the mechanics of it when I wound it. I wound it about 30 times as I thought that was the norm from watch forums but the sa told me when I called that it should be only 20. Now I'm scared that I actually broke my watch... Any advice? I read that it's hard to beam the watch though. I think th first time I got it I wound it 60x to get it started...

How long have you had it? It might be that you need to service the movement if the oils have dried up, but another more likely possibility is that your watch's mainspring has been magnetized, which can significantly impact power reserve duration. Having your watch in close proximity to a computer (hard-drive), speakers, earphones or other source magnetism for a prolonged period can have lasting/visible effects but thankfully the issue can be rectified quickly and cheaply ( probably free).

Demagnetizing the watch takes about 20 seconds and is a service that will most likely be provided for free through your authorized dealer.

Yes, how long have you had the watch for? When I first got my BB auto, it would last around 12 hrs after winding and wearing it consistently for days, then I would find it dead. I think its the normal use of the watch and battery. I know the site and SA say other wise, but I have tested it by wearing and leaving it alone. Thats why I invested in a watch winder, so I dont have that problem anymore. GL
