I just got a Cambridge Tote in Plum, I love it...except I noticed that the hardware, including the metal hangtag show what looks like a peeling or tarnishing of the metal? Is this normal? I know that it is suppose to be a distressed look, but does anyone else that owns this bag have the same issue? I'm hoping it's not defective! Thanks for any input.:smile1:

I think I know what you're talking about, but can you post pictures? I got the large cambridge clutch in plum and the hardware is for the plum bags is called "amber" which has a matte look to it and is a bit darker than the gunmetal hardware on my navy cambridge satchel. When I bought my clutch (with the amber hardware) I noticed the floor model's hang tag had funky spots all over it, almost like it was... oxidizing?

The one I got also had this (didn't check til I got home -doh!) So I took it back and they ended up exchanging it with the hangtag from a black clutch with the gunmetal hardware because all the plum clutch's hangtags were like that. I think it's the way the amber hardware is treated. If you look at ebay auctions for the cambridge collection you'll see lots of tags with those funky spots on them.

it is so so normal nothin to worry about Coach wanted it too look distressed,

just have to love it and congrats on your lovely bag

and dont stress out about the distress, LOL

I had the Cambridge plum zip-top tote and it had the same thing, and all the other ones I saw had it, too. IMO it fits the look of these bags - like Peggle said, it looks "distressed." You have a lovely bag!
