Question about LV Speedy lock and key

So I bought my LV Speedy 30 just this November and I love, love, love it. I'm amazed at how low maintenance it is. I don't always attach the lock however, because I'm not fond of the way it drags down the material when I attach it to one of the zippers. When I am not using it I keep the lock and key on the tiny cloth pouch.

The other day I noticed that the lock and keys have developed uneven color already, with some spots becoming faded and they key with zone dark spots. Question: how do I clean/care for the lock and keys to restore the color? Thanks!

I just cleaned my speedy lock and keys today with a tip I read here on tPF, ketchup! I then rinsed it in hot water with soap and they're good as new.

Anything slightly acidic will do the trick: I've used 1 part lemon juice to 3 parts water, applied with a q-tip, allowed to rest for about 30 seconds or, and wiped off with a slightly damp cloth and then dried with a towel. Does the trick every time.
