Question about Hermes Apple Watch band!

Hi everyone, quick question -

Does Hermes require the previous purchase of the Hermes Apple Watch in order to be allowed to purchase additional bands or can one just buy the band from Hermes and the watch from Apple Store?

Asking for a friend because I already have the Hermes Apple Watch and wanted to know if I’ll need to buy the band for her if Hermes won’t allow her to buy it herself.
