I'm interested in getting either a Swagger or Mercer satchel in a neutral color. I don't know if/when I'll be able to make it to the nearest Coach boutique to see for myself, unfortunately. If anyone has seen fog in person, I was wondering if the color is more grey-ish or if it is a grey/brown. Also, is it a color that could transition into fall?

I have seen it in person. It is a grey-brown. A little more grey than a taupe color if that helps describe it. I really like the color, it is very neutral!

I rather like the color, however (and maybe this is my own personal view coming through), I feel like it would be hard to match with things that weren't dark (my mind sees it with blacks, darker grays, blues, but not necessarily brighter shades).

True, but this color will coordinate well with corals, pinks, yellows, purples too. I treat greys just like I do navy, brown or black. I don't always match, but I always coordinate the colors in my outfits.

Thank you for the replies. For Mother's Day, my hubby surprised me with a trip into Nashville to have lunch and go to the Coach store at the Green Hills Mall. I did get to see Fog in person, and though it is a pretty color, I decided on the Swagger 27 in Saddle. The SA ordered it for me and it will be shipped to my house. I have to add the SA's in the store were great, very friendly and helpful. It was also nice to see people in the store shopping. I can remember buying my Rhyder bag at the Coach store in Salt Lake City back in September 2014 (when Stuart Vevers' designs first came out) and the store was dead - it was depressing. It seems Coach is doing better business.

By the way, thanks for sharing the pic of the Ace satchel in Fog. Very pretty. I missed out on the Ace, unfortunately.

Congratulations and Happy Mothers day! You made a great choice - Swagger 27 in saddle is one of the best choices. IMO, the fog is a very controversial color - I liked it when I first saw it but I came home and looked at it in more natural lights, I did not care much for it. I returned my fog.Saddle is a great neutral and year around color. I like how SLI1's ACE looks in fog. I think it looks different on pebble leather.

Thanks for the Mother's Day wishes! I agree, the color just didn't come off quite the same in the pebbled leather. The saddle is a good neutral as well, and I'll be able to carry it well into fall. I'll post a pic of the bag in the Swagger clubhouse when I get it.

Happy Mother's Day! You made a great choice. I have the Swagger carryall, a few of the 21 size and just bought a 27 yesterday. At first I thought it was too small in comparison to the carryall, but I've found my carryall to be a bit too big for me most days. The 27 is absolutely perfect. I can't wait to see your pics! Saddle will be a great neutral.

I agree with the fog color variations on the different leathers. The Swagger 27 in fog looks darker, almost like cement before it had dried.
