My boyfriend found a good deal on a pre-worn diamond bangle bracelet that he asked me if I wanted for my birthday. It is one of the ones that has diamonds only on the top of the wrist and is hinged. It is way too large for my wrist though and was wondering if it could be resized, however could not find any info online.

Does anyone know if a jeweler can resize these? Not sure if it is possible either from the hinge or to have a piece cut out from the solid gold back of the bangle, but then I worry about it not being oval in that case or if they could reshape it. Any advice or opinions? Will jewelers typically try to size this or will they just decline? No sense buying it if I can't get it resized since it is a good 2 sizes bigger than my wrist. Thanks.

I was told when I had the same dilemma it would cost too much because they would have to make a whole new setting. Unfortunately I bought it and asked the forum after :/ it's sitting in the safe.

I had a diamond Quad (invisible setting, 3 tcw) bangle sized. I wouldn't buy it unless the jeweler sized it first and he did. So it can be done. It was a hinged-style oval bangle and he did it for free.
