question about a return...

I am wondering if a Coach I purchased at TJMaxx can be returned at a Coach outlet...I would like something different, but obviously don't have near the selection I would at an outlet, thanks!

Oh - it still has the tags, but I don't think I have the receipt...

No you can't do that. You could try but if you purchased it from TJMaxx it should have an X on it somewhere indicating it's from a dept store. Outlet items have a bulleye/target stamp on it so they would know the difference. If you're not completely happy with it take it back & get store credit or sell it on ebay.
