I bought a hamilton wallet last Tuesday. I've been carrying it normally for less than a week and already there are some places the finish has come off and you can see white underneath.

The spots are admittedly small, but they do bother me.

If I have my receipt and I bought it at an MK store, can I return it if I'm not happy with the quality? I know it says unused items can be returned, but can I expect a lot of fighting or will they just take it back?

Normally I would just let it go, but this is a $150 wallet, and I expect it to not be losing finish after less than a week.

I purchased the Ring Tote 3 weeks ago along with a wallet while on vacation. When I pulled the tags off the wallet the following day the zipper came off too. We were able to reattach the zipper but I also noticed that the credit card slots seemed to be a little loose but since I'm easily pleased I didn't bother with it. Well today as I am walking through the mall the strap to the purse broke! I have only carried the purse about 5 times. I called the store and was told that I could ship it back and they will send me another one as no refunds are given after 21 days and I am on day 24. I am very dissappointed as to the quality of the merchandise as well as the service. I will never buy another Michael Kors product.

I have bought 3 bags now from the MK store.

Bag #1: a grommet for the strap came off after a few weeks. I went to the store for a repair. It took around 3 weeks, but it was repaired although the process was very disorganized when compared with Coach

Bag #2: When I purchased it the clasp seemed a little flaky, they examined it and I confirmed that the bag had a 1 year warranty. Well the first time I carried the bag, it was pretty ineffective. The bag would pop open with minimal movement. I returned to the store for a repair. After a few weeks I hadn't heard back and I called in. It took them a little while to find the bag. I later found out the repair process was to drop it off at a nearby shoe repair place. Needless to say it couldn't be fixed so I was credited the cost towards a new bag. All looks good with the new one.

I think that the MK boutique return policy is stingy. I'd advocate sticking with getting the bag at a department store for better service. Considering that is looks like the stores use their discretion to repair it at a local place, MK doesn't have the infrastructure (or maybe volume) for an company-owned repair center.

I had a luggage hamilton, while I was carrying it for the first time, I noticed two "white" spots on the bag. These spots were on the long handle and one on the back of the bag and were very noticable. It looked like the die didn't take in those spots. For the cost of the bag, I expect better quality. I took it back to the MK store where it was purhased, it was a hassle, but they finally exchanged it for another one (which is all I wanted and I stated such as soon as I walked in). I brought that bag home and it's been sitting in its dustbag ever since (it's been a few months). I pulled it out the other day and what do I see???? White spots on the front of the handle where it attaches to the bag!!!!! I need to take it in AGAIN, but I haven't because I know its going to be a big issue. I don't like how they don't stand behind their products. MK has some beautiful bags, but I will no longer purchase from the MK store, I'll go to Nordstrom instead. It's extremely disappointing that the quality isn't there and it seems to me like they want you to purchase a bag and then they don't want to see you again for any reason unless it's to buy another bag. As a customer, I should feel welcome in the store and they should be standing behind the quality of their products.

I feel bad for all of you, but just wanted to add that I have 10 MK bags (2 collection) and one wallet and haven't had a single issue with any of them.

I do agree that the MK service is awful and whenever I buy anything from them I figure that it's on me from then on in. Thankfully I haven't needed to take anything back. I guess if I ever did have an issue it may make me question buying from them because I know they wouldn't stand behind their products.

The service is beyond awful, but thankfully their products have stood up for me remarkably well which is the only reason I keep buying from them. And in Canada the return policy is only 10 days - pathetic. And all on-sale items are final sale.

Coach customer services blows MK out of the water.

My 2 cents' worth:

I try to stick to the Kors by Michael Kors or the Collection items.

The MbyMK, if it says "Made in China," I take it with a grain of salt if something happens to it **ducking**. I know the MbyMK isn't chump change, but it is not the Kors or collection quality. Still good stuff, though. I have a ton of MbyMK shoes and clothes.

Having said that, I am a loyal MK customer, and I love the boutique and my SA at the boutique. They are soooooo good to me. I had an issue once with a MbyMK bag I bought for my daugher. They bent over backwards to solve the problem, and they did.

Form a relationship with a SA, be a good customer.

My SA sends me emails with pics of new things that come in that he thinks I might like. He lets me know when collection bags go on sale. I love him to death!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If his store doesn't have an item I like, he gets it for me and has it sent to me.

(PM me if you want his contact info. He can be a long-distance SA also. ;))

Funny this thread should come up.

I bought a peanut Hamilton a few weeks back at Macy's. The one I got from the store had a pen mark that I did not notice until I got home. I ordered a replacement - that one had red color transfer on the front.

I ordered two replacements - thinking one will be right and I can just return the other. They were both brand new, still in the packaging, and both had issues. The first one had patches where the color was uneven, and the other had sealant marks from the handle on the front where it was not wrapped properly. The pen marked one I got from the store was the best of the bunch. smdh.

I thought it was just me! I bought a bag about 4 years ago. I never use it. It sits in my closet in a dust bag. I pulled it out of the dust bag to use it this week and some of the grommets on the bag have tarnished. Seriously!! I have only used this bag about 3 times since I've had it.

Here's the Guaranteed for MK bags please use it if you have problems with your purse. I've never had a problem and the customer service at my MK stores are excellent. Buying a bag is a joyful experience as soon as u walk in the door if attitude is given to u it ruins the whole shopping expirience. Always bring it up to the manager if you receive bad CS because we are paying for great customer service as well!
